Zoo Grounds Keeper (Seasonal)
Report to: Zoo Manager and Zoo Director
Hours: M-F 8am to 3pm - 1 hour lunch break (hours subject to change during seasons)
Daily Duties: Clean restrooms, leaf blowing, empty trash cans, take trash to dumpster daily, check and restock supplies, vacuum retail and education space, patrol grounds for litter, answer public questions and offer assistance.
Weekly Duties: Vacuum admin offices and mop floors, Clean break room and restroom (2x's), Dust and wipe down all counters, Clean windows, knock down cobwebs.
As Needed: Painting, pressure washing, assist with unloading deliveries, check and change light bulbs, snow removal, assisting with special events, minor repairs, basic horticulture (weeding trimming), clean gutters, other duties as assigned.
Requirements: High School Diploma, Drivers License required, Must be able to lift 50Lbs, Knowledge of tools and minor repairs, Background check, Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Zoo Security Officer Part Time (29.5 Hrs a week maximum)
Reports to: Zoo Director
Qualifications: High School Diploma or above
Hours: Shift work: 4pm - 12am or 12am - 8am (1/2 break), 3 or 4 days a week
Duties: Patrol zoo using security keying/check-in system on an hourly basis. Observe zoo during evening hours for any out of the ordinary activities. Patrol and ensure all gates are locked and secure at the end and beginning of shift and throughout evening. Close zoo at end of public day, escort patrons out and lock all gates. Station and open employee gate in mornings and give access to zoo. Be prepared to assist with adverse events and weather conditions as they may occur. Assist with special after hours events. Keep nightly records of shift. Participate in necessary division and state required trainings.
Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Must be on your feet and patrolling the zoo during evening hours.
Comfortable interacting with public.
Must be able to report on time for all shifts.
Background check required.

Education Intern - Varying term length (Unpaid)
Brandywine Zoo is seeking a dynamic and engaging person to join our education team! We are searching for a dedicated candidates to internship positions with our Education Department. These positions are flexible positions, ranging from 2-5 days per week over 3-6 month periods. This person will serve as an Educator and work in the Education Department of the Brandywine Zoo.
The role of the Education Intern is to lead informal and formal education opportunities both on and off site and assist with special events. We're looking for an individual with great people skills (especially with children!), is artistic, comfortable with public speaking, is a self-starter, able to work as part of a team and independently, energetic, positive, creative, sense of humor, and has a passion for the environment!
