The Brandywine Zoo Education Department is seeking part time people to lead informal education opportunities on zoo grounds and teach environmental educational programs for our off site Traveling Zoo program. We're looking for individuals with great people skills (especially children!); animal lovers; self-starters; energetic; positive; creative; and have a passion for the environment!

Presentation
Zoo Naturalists present various live animal presentations that will attract and engage the casual zoo visitors on zoo grounds; man the zoo's Discovery Cart loaded with educational props; assist zoo guests with way finding; lead tours for groups; assist with the zoo's special events; teach environmental programs for our off-site Traveling Zoo programs; and positively represent and promote the Brandywine Zoo and its programs.
Animal Care
Ensure animal health and safety while they are in your possession, as dictated by zoo personnel. Load animals in their proper carrying containers and pack the necessary comforts they'll need while away from the zoo. Provide proper environment, water, heat, shade and/or air conditioning for animals while traveling. Provide a secure environment for animals at all times while they are in your care. Immediately inform zoo staff of observed or perceived problems.
Hours: Flexible hours Monday - Sunday. Approximately 35 hours per week, June - August.

Requirements: Teaching skills, valid driver's license, good physical condition, experience a plus, must be at least 17 years of age.
Duties: Teaching, administration and some marketing of educational programs.
