Brandywine Zoo - Family Programs

The Education Department offers special programs for specific age groups except during the summer months. Read about
some of the wonderful programs below.

Pint Sized Planeteers

For ages 18 months - 6 years

The Brandywine Zoo offers programs specially designed for children 18 months to 6 years old. These fun-filled frolics into the animal world may include a story, a live animal visit, and a craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult is admitted free for each participating child. Programs are held in the Education Building. Space is limited, so pre-registration is strongly suggested. Fee: $8 per child; $6 per child for Delaware Zoological Society.

Pint-Sized Planeteers Program Series: Animal Colors/RED

(18 months to 6 yrs)
Animals come in all shapes, sizes and COLORS! Learn about our many colorful creatures, each week focusing on a different color or pattern! Registration strongly suggested, walk-in's welcome if space is available. One adult is free for each paid participant. Program begins in the Education Building. Fee: $8 per child/$6 per child for Delaware Zoological Society Members. SPECIAL SESSION FEE: $50 per child/$35 for Delaware Zoological Society Members if you sign up for all seven Animal Colors Programs.

Art in the Ark - Zippity Zoo Days!

All Ages
Enjoy a special day at the zoo celebrating the arts in a wild new way...with the Zoo animals featuring works of art created by the animals themselves! Held in conjunction with the Brandywine Festival of the Arts, enjoy a wild art station, discovery cart, and live animal encounters! Free Admission.

Saturday, September 25: 12:00pm - 3:30pm

Zoo Fiesta

All Ages
The Brandywine Zoo and the Latin American Community Center are working together to provide a WILD Fiesta! Learn about endangered species from Latin Countries and more importantly learn how YOU can make a difference! This bilingual event will include: animal craft, face painting, music, and more...all in Spanish and English! What's a fiesta without a piñata? Observe several zoo animals play with their own special piñatas! Free with paid admission to the Zoo.

Autumn with the Animals

All Ages
Enjoy Fall festivities at Brandywine Zoo's Autumn with the Animals! The whole family will enjoy games, face painting, live entertainment, and live animal presentations. Children are welcome to wear Halloween costumes if desired! FREE with paid admission to the zoo.

Scout Day at the Brandywine Zoo, An Event for Girl and Boy Scouts!

Enjoy a morning at the zoo designed for scouts and their families! Registered participants for this program get to enjoy special early admission to the zoo before it opens to the public! njoy a morning of games, crafts, and activities all geared toward scout requirements. Brandywine Zoo patches will be available for purchase. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather. Fee: $7.00 per person. Pre-registration required, space is limited, so please register early! Deadline for registration is November 10. Please call the zoo at (302) 571-7850, ext. 209.

Holly-Zoo Days!

All Ages
Enjoy an afternoon or two at the zoo to rev up your holiday spirit! Walk amongst your wild friends that reside at the zoo, sip a warm beverage, listen to festive music, and round off your trip with a visit to the "Zootique" gift store! FREE with zoo admission.

Noon Year's Eve Celebration at Brandywine Zoo!

Celebrate the New Year Zoo-style by ringing in the New Year at NOON! We'll have games, crafts, and a celebratory atmosphere and of course a sparkling apple cider toast as the clock strikes 12 (Noon that is!) Pre-registration suggested, walk-in's welcome. Fee: $3 per person/$2 per person Delaware Zoological Society Members.
