| The Brandywine Zoo is open every day 10 am to 4pm with seasonal activities throughout the year. All Special Events take place in the zoo, unless otherwise indicated. - 150 intriguing animals

Review pollination and conservation concerns. The bees are an important part of the pollination of fruits, vegetables, grains, trees and flowers. Their role as pollinators and importance to our global food production will be discussed. Animal keepers and naturalists will discuss some of the challenges that bee populations are encountering including pollution, colony collapse disorder, parasites, and fewer bee keepers. Learn what you can do to encourage honey bee population increase.

Learn how to prepare the hive for the fall and winter. The bees have to prepare for the cold winter by building up their stores of honey and creating a strong colony to survive the winter. Animal Keepers will discuss how much honey is needed to survive the winter; techniques the bees use to stay warm in the winter; what bee keepers do to prepare their hives for the winter and how they check on the bees; and challenges faced by the bee keepers and their bees in the hard winter months.

Learn about endangered species from Latin Countries and more importantly learn how YOU can make a difference! Observe several Zoo animals, including our tiger, play with their own special piñatas! Free with paid admission to the Zoo.
